Green Film Forum (GFF) is called to be an international meeting point of knowledge, intelligence, experience and sustainable practices in the audiovisual industry, which will contribute significantly to position Mallorca and the work carried out by the insular film commission, as a global reference in the field. The event will take place in Palma (Mallorca) on October 18, 19 and 20, 2024.
Green Film Forum is an initiative of the Consell Insular de Mallorca through the Fundació Mallorca Turisme, which receives European funding from the NextGenerationEU plan. Among other topics, participants will have the opportunity to learn about new trends for achieving sustainable productions, including energy supply and transportation solutions, production design adaptation and training.
Innovation will be an essential aspect of the program and how it can help film to be greener, not only through tech innovation but also by means of new ways to produce as virtual production.
Different certification models and green protocols in various territories will be analyzed through case studies, as well as the progress towards establishing common guidelines and an European standard. Furthermore, the integration of sustainability into storytelling and its role in content creation will be addressed.
The Green Film Forum will be presented on Saturday, 18th May at the Cannes Film Festival, during an exclusive networking session hosted by Screen International in collaboration with the Mallorca Film Commission, where 40 industry professionals are invited to discuss possible collaborations with what Mallorca brings to the film industry.
